Leah completed her Pilates certification through BASI and has been teaching full-time since 2010. She's taken numerous continuing education courses and has a variety of certifications, including a Posture Alignment Specialist certification through the Egoscue Institute. She was introduced to this modality in 2016 and realized it provided a missing link in her Pilates work with clients. Education is critical in changing movement patterns and keeping clients out of pain. Posture Alignment therapy offers this in the first session. Presently, she is pursuing a Master of Science in Kinesiology specializing in Corrective Exercise, Orthopedic Rehabilitation, and Functional Fitness for Older Adults. She takes pride in relating to her clients in a beneficial way that they can understand, which enables them to recognize that the body works as one functioning unit. Clients motivate her daily, and watching them improve their overall health and live with less pain provides Leah with immense gratification.
Leah has experience working with the following conditions and clientele: osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tears, hip replacements, knee replacements, spinal cord damage, sciatica, Parkinson's, atrial fibrillation, COPD, cancer, pregnancy (prenatal & postpartum), multiple spinal disc conditions, nerve damage, Morton's neuroma, plantar fasciitis, drop foot, bunions, and more.
